It is great that now such music is in demand. Oleh Pshyk informed that the band for a long time has been collaborating with the Pop and Jazz Department of the Lviv Music Academy. When Ostap Maichyk, the head of the Pop and Jazz Department and vice-rector of Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy, asked us to give a joint concert within the third Academia. From Youth To Youth Festival, we immediately agreed. Our program features Ukrainian classic pop music, – noted the director of the MedOrkestra. – They are songs of 60s, beautiful music on great poetry. We want to show this music to young people - and to perform with them».
The director of Medorkestra said that there are a lot of pieces and it is very difficult to choose something for only one concert. Therefore they have chosen the brightest works. «Now these pieces are not often performed on our stages, but they describe the whole epoch, - said Oleh Pshyk. – We will start the concert with the potpourri of famous compositions. Also will be performed works by Myroslav Skoryk, Anatolii Kos-Anatolskyi and Oleksandr Bilash. These compositions are full of love and warmth, so we decided that such works must be shown to young people and performed by them. If the song carries the genetic code of its people, it must be passed down from generation to generation,» - said Mr. Pshyk. The first Ukrainian twist Ne topchit konvalii by Myroslav Skoryk is a favorite song of the leader of the band. Oleh Pshyk noted that the lily of the valley is a flower, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. And the compositions performed by the MedOrkestra are also worth entering the Red Book of Ukrainian music.
