Oksana Rapita – piano
A famous Ukrainian pianist, a Merited Artist of Ukraine. Born in Ternopil. O. Rapita was studying at Ternopil music college named after S. Krushelnytska (class of L. Korniy), Lviv National Musical Academy named after Mykola Lysenko (class of L. Krykh), The Gnessin State Musical College (A. Aleksandrov). She is a laureate of Republican competition of pianists named after M. Lysenko (1984), the International competition of chamber ensembles “Golden autumn” (1993, Khmelnytskyi), a prize-winner of the International competition of pianists named after P. O’Shea (1990, Spain). A laureate of the VІ International festival of art masters named after S. Richter (2005, Zhytomyr), the VІІ International festival named after P. Tchaikovsky and N. von Meck (2009, Vinnytsia).
Rapita intensively tours around Ukraine and abroad (Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. She holds a great repertoire from baroque to modernity. Performed more than 20 premieres of Ukrainian and world music, took part in CD recording with Ukrainian composers’ music (S. Lyudkevych, I. Sonevytskyi, M. Skoryk, Y. Lanyuk, V. Kaminskyi, O. Oliynyk, O. Kozarenko). O. Rapita cooperates with different symphony orchestras in Ukraine, Poland, Switzerland, Russia.
Rapita is a member of three international music festivals, in particular: “Contrasts”, “Virtuosos”, “Kyiv Music Fest”, “Kyiv premieres”, “2 days and 2 nights”, “Colours of the 20th century music” named after I. Stravinsky (Ukraine), “Music days of Kraków composers”, “Warsaw music meetings’’, the Festival of modern music named after W. Lutosławski in Lubin (Poland), «MENHIR» (Switzerland), the Festival of music named after F. Schubert (Switzerland-Germany), “New itineracy” (Russia- Kyrgyzstan) etc. Also O. Rapita delivers lectures at a special piano department of Lviv National Musical Academy named after Mykola Lysenko.
In a duo with her husband, M. Dragan, is awarded a regional premium named after S. Lyudkevych for concert programs (2009).
