On August 23 at 19:00, Lviv Philharmonic presents the concert of Stefan Shkafarowsky, the well-known American soloist of Ukrainian origin. His deep bass voice is heard at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and, sometimes, – in the church choir or at the events organized by the Ukrainian diaspora.
A native of New York, a graduate of the American Opera Center at Julliard and the Westchester Conservatory of Music, Mr. Szkafarowsky with his powerful voice first conquered North America and then the entire world. The repertoire of the singer features more than 20 opera roles in the masterpieces by Beethoven, Puccini, Strauss, Verdi and other classical composers. He toured the USA, Canada, South America, the Middle East and Japan.
On the eve of the Independence Day of Ukraine, Mr. Szkafarowsky presents the concert with a symbolic name BE, UKRAINE. The program features songs and romances by M. Lysenko, K. Stetsenko, V. Kosenko, H. Kytastyi, I. Sonevytskyi and O. Bilash. He will be accompanied by the famous pianist Myroslav Drahan.
