The art of polyphony of past and present
Works of the Polish composers of XVII - XVIII centuries and Krzysztof Penderecki’s
On June 18 there is the closing of the Lviv Early Music Festival. We invite you to Lviv Philharmonic to the concert The Art of Polyphony of Past and Present. The program features works by Polish composers of the XVII - XVIII centuries as well as Krzysztof Penderecki compositions. The last concert of the festival gathers a lot of ensembles which perform early music. In particular, the Lviv ensemble A cappella Leopolis which is the participant of numerous festivals and competitions, and whose repertoire includes spiritual medieval and baroque music, as well as many Ukrainian compositions.
Today also perform the guests of the festival – Polish bands. Consortium Sedinum from Szczecin will not only perform early music, but play authentic instruments or their replicas and try to perform the way it was in the past. Another guest from Szczecin – Szczecin Vocal Project – is a young ensemble that was founded in 2013 under the patronage of the Academy of Early Music Foundation. Its repertoire features music of the XVI century, Polish Baroque and Renaissance compositions. Conducts Paweł Osuchowski, the founder of the orchestra of the Academy of Early Music Foundation in Szczecin.
